Diarios de Xalapa es un album de thruoutin escrito alrededor del año 2005. Los temas de la obra fueron creados en un semestre en el extranjero en la ciudad mexicana de Xalapa, Veracruz cuando él vivió allí. Después de regresar a Los Estados Unidos en 2006, la música acabó cogiendo la forma en la que escuchamos hoy. El álbum tiene elementos electrónicos mezclados con grabaciones de campo con inspiración de los géneros como IDM, downtempo, y chillout. Las pistas son crudas y ingenuas pero representan un espacio temporal del desarrollo del musico. Existen simplemente como un catalogo de ideas y sentimientos.

Diarios de Xalapa was written around 2005, during a semester thruoutin spent in the Mexican city of Xalapa, Veracruz. After returning to the United States in 2006, the music gradually coalesced into what we hear today. The album contains electronic elements mixed with field recordings inspired by genres such as IDM, downtempo, and chillout. While the tracks are raw and primitive, they represent a key space-time in thruoutin's development and exist as a catalog of ideas and feelings from a particularly formative period for the musician.
